The New York Jets have signed quarterback Erik Ainge, their fifth-round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft, and free agent offensive lineman Kyle DeVan. The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Ainge (6'5", 221), the 162nd overall pick of April's draft, played in 46 games with 35 starts for Tennessee, ranking third in school history in completions (516), attempts (854) and touchdown passes (51). He also ranks fourth in UT annals with 6,308 passing yards and third with 6,107 yards of total offense. He completed 733 of 1,210 passes (60.6 percent) for 8,700 yards, 72 TDs and 35 interceptions in four seasons.

DeVan (6'2", 306) was originally signed as an undrafted free agent on May 1 by the Washington Redskins. He appeared in 50 career games with 38 consecutive starts for Oregon State. Last season as a senior, he started in all 13 contests and helped the Beavers average 371.6 yards per game and allow only three sacks and five hurries on 438 pass plays. DeVan earned Pac-10 honorable mention in 2005 and '07.
