Houston Leaves Team; CFL Wideout Signed

The New York Jets announced the signing of free agent WR Chris Davis and also announced that RB Cedric Houston has left the team for personal reasons. Both announcements were made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Davis (5'10", 180) had 62 catches for 721 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 175 yards and one score in four seasons at Wake Forest. Since graduating in 2005, he spent portions of the past two seasons with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, tallying nine catches for 83 yards before being released last month.

Houston (6'0", 220), a sixth-round selection (182nd overall) out of Tennessee by the Jets in 2005, rushed for 676 yards and seven touchdowns and gained 109 yards on 15 catches in two seasons with the Green & White.
