S Jalen Mills Placed on Injured Reserve

DL Leki Fotu Returns to Practice; Green & White Sign Three Players to the Practice Squad

The Jets have placed S Jalen Mills on injured reserve. The team also announced that DT Leki Fotu has returned to practice and the Green & White have added three players to the practice squad – RB Zach Evans, DL Bradlee Anae and TE Neal Johnson.

Mills injured his collarbone while making an interception in the Jets' 32-25 victory over the Jaguars in Week 15. He played in 0 games this season, making 8 starts and finished with 44 tackles, 6 PDs and 1 FF. Mills, who signed with the Jets P-squad on Sept. 24, was elevated for 2 games before signing to the active roster on Oct. 23. He took 458 defensive snaps and 12 on special teams.

Mills spent the previous three seasons with the Patriots and started in 34 of the 43 games he appeared in. A seventh-round pick out of LSU in 2016, Mills played the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Eagles. With Philadelphia, Mills started in 49 of the 63 games he played in, and totaled 5 interceptions, 40 pass defenses, 1 forced fumble and 283 tackles.

Fotu (6-5, 335), who has suited up in two games this season, missed the Jets' first 5 games with a hamstring injury and then sustained a knee injury and was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 31. He signed with the Jets after he played the past four seasons with the Cardinals and totaled 2.5 sacks, 28 tackles and 5 tackles for loss in 11 games last season. Fotu, drafted by Arizona out of Utah in the fourth round in 2020, played in 45 games (12 starts) and recorded 1 sack, 3 pass defenses, 61 tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 5 QB hits over his first four seasons.

Evans (5-11, 211), a sixth-round pick (No. 215 overall) of the Rams in the 2023 NFL Draft, played collegiately at TCU and Ole Miss. He appeared in 10 games for the Rams last season and rushed 9 times for 19 yards. He spent some time with the Rams this past summer before being released from the practice squad.

Anae (6-4, 260), who signed a reserve/future contract with the Jets on Jan. 19, 2022, spent time on the practice squad and was promoted to the active roster in the season finale against the Dolphins. He was placed on injured reserve on May 25, 2023, and joined the Falcons last spring before being waived in August. On Nov. 18, 2024, Anae signed with the Birmingham Stallions of the United Football League. A former fifth-round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2020, Anae was active for 11 games with the 'Boys in 2020-21.

Johnson (6-4, 250), who went undrafted in 2024 after amassing 101 catches for 1,196 yards and 11 TDs at Louisiana, was waived by the Rams in August and had a short stint with the Jets in August.
