The Jets have activated DL Haason Reddick and released DL Takk McKinley. The team also elevated OL Alec Lindstromand S Jarius Monroe from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Reddick (6-1, 230), who was acquired in April via trade with the Eagles, was placed on the reserve/did not report list on July 25. He ended his holdout Monday when he reported to the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park. Reddick, a first-round pick by the Cardinals in 2017, has made the Pro Bowl each of the last two seasons. He had 11 sacks, 13 tackles for loss and 23 QB hits last season with Philadelphia. His 50.5 sacks since 2020 are the fourth most in the NFL in that span. Reddick has started in 81 of the 114 games he's played in and has totaled 410 tackles, 58 sacks, 16 forced fumbles and 19 pass defenses.
McKinley (6-2, 260), 28, a former first-round pick (No. 26) by the Falcons in the 2017 NFL Draft out of UCLA, joined the Jets for mandatory minicamp as a tryout player and earned a spot on the team's roster for training camp before he made the 53-man roster. He had 9 tackles and a half sack in 7 games this season as he took 130 snaps on defense.
Monroe (6-2, 205), signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent from Tulane, spent the summer with the Green & White before he was cut and signed to the practice squad. He represented the Green Wave in this year's East-West Shrine Bowl and was named the Defensive MVP. Following the '24 draft, Monroe transitioned from CB to S with the Jets and got starts at his new position in the final two preseason games, logged 123 defensive snaps in the three games combined and finished the preseason with 16 tackles.
Lindstrom (6-3, 300) first signed with the Green & White's practice squad Oct. 9 and was released Oct. 17 before he rejoined the PS Oct. 23. He first signed the Cowboys in 2022 as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College and spent his rookie season on Dallas' practice squad until he was placed on the P-squad/injured list that November. Lindstrom signed with the UFL's Memphis Showboats in January 2024 and had a stint in training camp with the Rams. He is the younger brother of Falcons two-time Pro Bowl OL Chris Lindstrom.
