The Jets elevated S Jarius Monroe and DL Bruce Hector from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Monroe (6-2, 205), signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent in May from Tulane, was elevated for 2 games this season and has taken 17 snaps on defense and 20 on special teams. He spent the summer with the Green & White before he was cut and signed to the practice squad. Following the '24 draft, Monroe transitioned from CB to S with the Jets and got starts at his new position in the final two preseason games, logged 123 defensive snaps in the three games combined and finished the preseason with 16 tackles.
Hector (6-2, 296) initially signed with the P-squad last December and has played in 3 games this season. He took 47 snaps on defense and totaled 3 tackles. Before the Jets, Hector played with the Arlington Renegades of the XFL. He also played in 3 games for the Lions in 2022 and had 5 tackles on 52 snaps. He first signed with the Eagles in 2018 as an undrafted free agent out of South Florida and has had stints with the Cardinals (2019), Panthers (2020) and Titans (2021). Hector has played in 16 career games (1 start) and has 11 tackles, 0.5 sacks and 2 QB hits.
Additionally, DT Leki Fotu, whose practice window had been opened earlier this week, has been downgraded to out.
