The Jets have elevated K Spencer Shrader from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Shrader (6-2, 200) signed with Jets practice squad on Oct. 30. An undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame and South Florida, Shrader kicked for the Colts in their Week 1 contest against the Texans following an injury to Matt Gay. He made all three of his extra point attempts and was released on Oct. 2. Shrader re-signed a week later before being released again on Oct. 16. He kicked for USF for 4 seasons and made 70% of his field goal attempts before transferring to Notre Dame in 2024. With the Fighting Irish, he connected on 15 of 22 attempts, including a career-long 54-yarder, and was 61 of 62 extra points.
On Friday, the Green & White also released K Riley Patterson and signed former Packers and Niners kicker Anders Carlson to the practice squad.
"We are just looking for a live leg," HC Jeff Ulbrich said of the transactions Friday. "So, we brought a guy in that's got a live leg, that's kicked in the NFL, and we think Spencer Shrader has a live leg, so that's ultimately what it came down to was the strength of the leg, and Shrader kicked very well [Friday] so I think he'll get the nod Sunday."
