The Jets have signed LB Anthony Hines to their practice squad and placed LB Brandon Smith on practice squad injured reserve.

Hines (6-3, 226) had a stint with the Jets this past summer and was a final cut. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys in 2021 but failed to make the roster after training camp. The Texas A&M product signed a reserves/future contract with the Rams in 2022 and spent the past two seasons on and off their practice squad. He played three seasons with the Aggies from 2017-2019 and Hines played in 13 games and registered 73 tackles and 10.5 tackles for loss in his last collegiate season.

Smith (6-3, 241) signed with the Jets practice squad earlier this week. He was drafted by the Panthers in the fourth round in 2022 out of Penn State. The former Nittany Lion played in 12 games (1 start) as a rookie before he was released and signed with the Eagles. He appeared in 2 games last season with Philadelphia after he was called up from the practice squad for both games and took 31 snaps on special teams and none on defense.
