The Jets have signed WR Jason Brownlee to the practice squad and released WR Lance McCutcheon from the practice squad.
Brownlee was released from the Jets' 53-man roster on Wednesday after the Green & White claimed TE Brenden Bates. A second-year wideout out of Southern Mississippi, Brownlee had 5 catches, 47 yards and 1 touchdown in the preseason, the team's only receiving score of the preseason. He had 5 receptions, 56 yards and 1 TD in 7 games last season after he signed as an undrafted free agent last May.
McCutcheon, an undrafted free agent signing by the Rams in 2022, spent last season on the Jets practices squad. He signed a reserve/future contract in January and now returns to the Green & White. In 2023, he was waived by the Rams as a part of final roster cuts and signed with Texans p-squad before being released in October. McCutcheon, who went to Montana State, played in all three preseason games for the Jets this summer and recorded 2 receptions for 25 yards.
