The Jets have signed unrestricted free agent center Josh Myers.

Myers has a few connections of note to Jets fans. After his redshirt freshman season of 2017 as a guard, the next three seasons he played 27 games as Ohio State's center, and thus as the center for Justin Fields, now the Jets' new QB, then with the Buckeyes, in 2019-20. He was named second-team All-Big Ten at the end of the '19 season and first-team all-conference and second-team All-America after his '20- season.

He was drafted by Green Bay in the second round (62nd overall) of the '21 draft and took over the starting C job immediately after Corey Linsley departed as a free agent for the Chargers. Myers made 24 starts in 2021-22, including a '21 playoff game, as the starting C for the Packers offense under Aaron Rodgers.

Myers (6-5, 312) has started 56 regular-season games at C (plus four more in the postseason) for the Packers from 2021-24, He has logged 3,481 offensive snaps in his four-year pro career, including 50-plus starts and 1,000-plus snaps in each of the past three seasons with the Pack.
