The New York Jets have waived safety Rashad Washington. They have also signed wide receiver Evan Prall to their practice squad. The announcements were made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Washington (6'1", 217) was selected by the Jets in the seventh round (236th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Kansas State. In four seasons, he played in 48 games and tallied 69 special teams tackles, 22 defensive tackles, 1.5 sacks and one pass defensed. He recorded 10 special teams tackles in nine games this season.
Prall (5'11", 182) was in training camp with the Jets after signing June 14, then was waived Sept. 1. At East Stroudsburg, he had 236 receptions and set Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference records for career receiving yards (4,093) and touchdowns (50) over his four-year career at the Division II school.
Prall was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by Arizona on May 1 and was waived by the Cardinals on May 29.
