Trusnik Goes to IR; Hunter Signed to P-Squad

The New York Jets have placed LB Jason Trusnik on injured reserve. The Jets have also signed OL Wayne Hunter to their practice squad. The announcements were made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Trusnik (6'4", 250), who signed with the Jets as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Ohio Northern on May 12, was waived Sept. 1, signed to the practice squad Sept. 3 and signed to the active roster Nov. 16.

The Macedonia, Ohio, native was active for six games, recording six special teams tackles. He was named the Jets' practice player of the week after the victory over Miami on Sept. 23.

Hunter (6'5", 303), in his fifth season, has appeared in three NFL games, one as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars (2006) and two for the Seattle Seahawks (2004, '05). He spent most of the '06 season on the Jaguars' practice squad but appeared in one game after he was signed to the active roster Nov. 11 before being waived Nov. 20.

He was originally selected by Seattle out of Hawaii in the third round (73rd overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft.
