The momentum the Jets captured in the second half of their 21-13 victory over the Texans in Week 9 never carried over for interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich's group in Arizona. Kyler Murray, accounting for 3 TDs, led the Cards to 31 points on their first five possessions as the Green & White fell to 3-7 with a 31-6 loss in the desert on Sunday. The NFC West-leading Cardinals stayed red hot with their fourth consecutive win and moved to 6-4.
Murray was masterful, connecting on 22 of 24 for 266 yards, as Arizona amassed 406 yards of total offense. Jets LB Jamien Sherwood had 17 tackles against an offense that ran 32 times for 147 yards (4.6 yds/att) and 3 TDs.
"I didn't think the strain, the effort, the physicality, was the issue on defense," HC Jeff Ulbrich said. "It was just the fundamentals, the base fundamentals, the technique and doing those things will win you games. And if you don't, it will lose your games, especially if you're not on point with it. We just got to be better in that way."
Aaron Rodgers and the Jets moved the ball, but they couldn't finish and were held to two field goals despite having four possessions inside the Arizona 28. Rodgers, who finished 22 of 35 for 151 yards, and the offense were kept out of the end zone and finished 0 of 3 in the red zone. Garrett Wilson's 41 yards (5 catches) paced the offense while RB Breece Hall accounted for 83 yards from scrimmage on 14 touches.
The Jets were outgained 239 to 85 over the first two quarters and Arizona took a 24-6 lead into intermission after scoring on all four of its possessions.
"We had a good week of practice and we liked the plan," Rodgers said. "They played really good on defense and we didn't sustain. We didn't score 7s in the red zone. I missed a couple throws for sure, and situationally, we were just really bad."
LB Quincy Williams recorded a bone-crushing sack of Murray from the blindside that dislodged the QB's helmet, but Murray bounced up and hit on13 of his first 15 passes for 170 yards. The Cards scored TDs on their first three drives and Murray's perfect 9-yard toss to rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. gave the home team a 21-6 lead.

Both teams scored on their first two possessions, but the Jets settled for two Spencer Shrader field goals while the Cards got 1-yard TD runs from James Conner and Murray. The visitors' deficit was 14-6 with 11:37 remaining in the second quarter.
Then when it looked like the Jets had gotten their first stop, TE Trey McBride broke a Sauce Gardner tackle attempt on third down and hurdled S Jalen Mills for a 17-yard gain to convert a third-and-7. Three plays after Williams' sack, Murray hit Harrison Jr. for their sixth scoring connection this season.
"I know I missed a tackle today," Gardner said. "I had good coverage, but I have to make that tackle. As a team, D-Line, backers, secondary, we always practice it, but it starts with me. I have got to be better."
After receiving the ball in the third quarter, the Jets, benefitting from a defensive PI penalty on Garrett Williams that nullified the DB's INT, moved all the way to the Arizona 3. But on third down, Davante Adams, who had a team-leading 6 catches for 31 yards on 13 targets, couldn't hang on to a Rodgers bullet and Xavier Thomas recorded a strip-sack of the Jets' QB on fourth down. Three of the Jets' first four offensive possessions got inside the Arizona 30, but they had just two Shrader field goals to show for it.
"We just have to finish drives better and got to score a lot of points," Adams said. "And obviously, if the defense is not having a great day, we got to find a way on offense to try to pick them up. And vice versa."
Murray took over at his 12 and promptly marched the Cards 88 yards, culminating a drive that took 6:20 with a 12-yard keeper to make it 31-6. The Cardinals had 17 plays of 10-plus yards over the first three quarters and Murray set a franchise mark with 17-straight completions.
